What We Can't Live Without

All of us have our little things that just make our day. Then again, all of us also have some other little things that we just can't seem to go without. Whether its a Coke Light, Star Wars, Cigarettes, Chocolates, Final Fantasy, Toys, Shoes, Bags, Iced Coffee or that Chicken Rice at Simpang, we all have our addictions. The only question is whether we admit that we have an addiction or not.

More often than not, people always refer to addictions as vices. It's always something bad. Hence, the sayings and idioms - Always in moderation, Too much of a good thing etc. And I guess to a certain extent, it's probably true. Indulging in our addictions often leave us with a hole in our pockets or is just bad for our health.

However, now that I'm on a pseudo-break and have some time to think about "the facts of life" (heh!) I find that the most difficult thing about addictions is that although we enjoy them, we often can't do it without feeling guily. I mean not many of us would dare eat ice-cream everyday without feeling the need to exercise the next day. And how many times have you heard "I really shouldn't" or "This is the last one"? Why should we limit ourselves?

So my friends, indulge yourselves and enjoy! I say - go on and relish your addiction guilt-free. I mean you can always recover from it the next day, God-willing. But if I pass on tomorrow, at least I'll go knowing that I spent my last day smoking, eating Pods and watching re-runs of CSI!
